Home Inspection

A home inspection is an objective visual examination of the physical structure and systems of a house, from the roof to the foundation. After the inspection process, the inspector will send the client an inspection report that covers their findings, complete with pictures, analysis and recommendations. During a standard inspection, the inspector evaluates and reports the condition of the: foundation, drainage, roof, interior & exterior walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, chimney, electrical systems, heating equipment, cooling equipment, plumbing systems, water heating equipment, and built-in kitchen appliances.

Radon Measurement

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the breakdown of naturally occurring uranium in soil and rock. Radon enters homes through openings that are in contact with the ground, such as cracks in the foundation, small openings around pipes, and sump pits. The more radon you are exposed to, and the longer the exposure, the greater the risk of eventually developing lung cancer. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) recommends that all homes be tested for radon. The professionals at Safeguard Home Inspectors are certified and licensed to perform radon measurement services.

Wood Destroying Insects

New Jersey is one of many states that mandates homebuyers receive a WDI report for a lending institution to grant them a mortgage. A Wood Destroying Insect Report includes comprehensive information on your potential home’s presence or absence of wood-destroying insects like termites, carpenter ants, and other equal offenders. Safeguard Home Inspectors are trained and licensed to perform this important report.
